Vinyl Record Bowl

I posted this the other day on Junk Revolution Community forums, so for the record I will add it to my blog!! haha!! I know this has been done before but it is so much fun. I found some records for 10 cents and decided to try one. Othe places on the web have directions and it is so easy, Place record over glass bowl and place on cookie sheet, in a 150 degree oven for about 10 minutes maybe a little less. This is the shape it melted into. Some of the directions said you can shape them when they start to melt. After they are in the shape you desire let cool for 10 minutes and take them off the bowl. It will be cool and hold its shape. This is an old 33 rpm and it would look pretty cool holding candy, peanuts, or how about holding a man's change from his pockets. Any other ideas?

Western Wreath

I made this a couple of years ago after seeing something similar at an antique mall. I also call this a memory wreath because most of the items were mine when I was younger, when we had horses.

I had a bunch of these horse fiqurines on my dresser as a child.

A curry comb used to brush out horses mane and tail.

A post card I wish it were me! I should really find a photo of me on my horse and put it here.

My old belt, I am so glad I kept it all these years!

Here it is on the wall along with a Dr. Pepper sign, the reason for the colors I choose.

Cowboy Boot Door Arrangement

Here is a fun easy project, grab a boot or two arrange flowers in then and hang or your door! The other one I made up and gave to my sisiter, I got the boots at a thrift store.

Photo Collage Frame

I know you all have seen these before, but I wanted to share my version.

I found this old frame and it just screamed that it wanted to hold my photos I recieve from friends and family. I used a heavy piece of cardboard covered it first with quilt batting and then with the red fabric. I went to my trim stash and pulled out all my black stuff, ribbon, ric rac, pufffy yarn and criss crossed and overlaping.

Added a variety of black buttons It is kinda cool even with out the photos! Underneath is a hymnal rack I found at an antique mall somewhere on our travels, added other fun stuff in red and blue.

Window Collage

I made 6 collages and put then in the Window panes. The old photos are all relatives, I am in the pane that says pink, my Mom and Dad are above me them my grandma and her little brother, my Aunt and Uncle and below them is my Great Aunt and the last one is unknown, but it was in a bunch of family photos from my grandfathers estate. The little girl is holding a cat.

Vintage Wreath

I took a grapevine wreath and decorated it with vintage items you might find in your ancestors bedroom. Gloves, hankie, pearls, cameo pin, old photo and a cloth purse along with ribbon, lace and silk flowers to coordinate with my bedroom. Everything is tied or wired on so I can remove it without damage, except for the lace and flowers.

I'll have another one a little different, coming in the future.

Mini Cabinet

I found this at a GoodWill it was a clock, it had a embroidered design that I removed. With the help of my son we cut and nailed shelves, I painted it barn red and added a white button for a little knob on the door. It is just perfect for my Shawnee Pottery minis.

Silverware Windchime

Old silverware created this windchime along with a steamer basket holding it all together. An old necklace was used to hang the silverware, junprings were used to connect the necklace to the hole I drilled in the handles. I also bent the silverware for added interest and besides that it is really fun to do!

Framed Flowers

I made these when my daughter, saw similar ones on HGTV, Decorating Cents, trash to treasure segment. We painted over old pictures found at a yard sale, she picked out flowers she wanted to use and put them above her bed. The ones on the show used beadboard in the frames, she didn't want to go to the trouble of that. When she moved out of our house she took the middle one along and is know in her kitchen.

Old Crutches As Handrail

Even our cat was wondering about my crazy idea of using crutches as handrails going down the basement stairs. My husband, made then very secure and old wooden spools used as spacers. When people go down stairs I always hear a chuckle! Well worth the 50 cents I paid for the crutches.
