Bottle Caps - cute and colorful I was actually thinking of putting some of them into the box when it was my turn.
A Metal Butterfly - would make great angle wings, I have some similar.
A Water Nozzle- my first thought that this could be used as a ring holder.
Buttons and Embroidery - I love buttons and have some vintage fabric items.
Musical Pieces - would make a good clip to hold notes or recipes
Shoe Taps - This is one I was thinking of taking but just wasn't sure what to do with them.
N - I love letters just as much as numbers
Door Plate and Building - A door plate was another thing I thought I could possibly add to the box and the building I also thought of making a ring holder.

? Metal Thing ? - No one seems to know what it is! but I still was thinking of taking it. I thought it might make a good candle holder.
I wonder what hey are from?
Does anyone know wha thay are?
In the end, it was between this and
these numbers!
these numbers!
I took these!!
Numbers Galore! - cattle, locker, and hotel. So far I have used 2 of them and I have them on my blog tomorrow!
And this is what I put into the box, A photo and 4 chandelier prisms.
Originally I was going to add a spice tin and put items of interest into it, but it was so full when I got the box that I decided on the prisms.

It sure was a fun experiment, and would do it again but I will sit the next one out so others can have fun!!
What an amazing collection of beautiful junk! And I love the title - Sisterhood of the Traveling Junk. Perfect. Can't wait to see what you are doing with the numbers.
ReplyDeleteLove all of that junk! Oh, all the possibilities for projects! That metal thing looks alot like what I took off of this thing: http://oldglorycottage.blogspot.com/2009/07/weekend-finds_19.html
ReplyDeleteI haven't done anything with it so far except paint it!
It would be so hard to pick just one thing from all of those goodies, but I think you made a great choice!
Oh....junk...I love that stuff!!! LOL I might have had to take the prisms out if I had received it after you!!! I'm a sucker for sparkle!!!
ReplyDelete:-) Hope you're having a great afternoon!
Glad you had fun with the box! The numbered nails are from old railroad track timbers or telephone poles. The numbers represent the year they were installed so maintenence could tell how old they were. Cool Huh?
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting our blog button for the new mag...we are so excited!
Peace,
Ki
So glad you shared all those photos. I was curious so see what was inside. It would certainly be a hard decision but I think you made a great choice. Have fun with those!
